Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
As a beta-reader, I am an author that has a ton of ideas, imagination, and creativity. I mostly write my stories based on my personal experiences. I am also an avid reader of this site and I review on almost every story that I read, handing over constructive criticism along the way.
I check for grammatical and spelling errors, how the story is flowing, plot holes, the length of the story, vocabulary, and how well the character development is going. If I find anything wrong, I change it after consulting the author(s) in need of my services.
However, I do expect the people that want my help to:
1. Have reasonably good spelling.
2. Have reasonably good grammar.
3. Have a reasonably good vocabulary.
4. Try to keep the characters in character as much as possible. (Ex. Sasuke screaming, "KYAA! Sakura-chan!" is a big no-no)
That is all I expect. I am sure that most people here have all those qualifications. Any piece that is given to me with an enormous amount of spelling and grammar mistakes with very plain vocabulary will be rejected. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I can pick up many grammatical errors and correct spelling and punctuation as a betareader. I can also help with editing and adding an array of vocabulary to a person asking for help. If wanted, I can throw in a couple of Japanese words, since Japanese is a language that I excel at :)
As a writer, I excel at many things, including coming up with interesting ideas and write stories that most people would enjoy. I like using metaphors in my stories to help readers envision what the characters in my stories are feeling. Best of all, I'm humorous; I love making people laugh! |

I don't type up long chapters. Sometimes, my vocabulary may not be the best while writing fics and I can sometimes confuse people... |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
Well, I like to beta stories that are in the Anime/Manga section rather than stories of other categories, but if I'm needed, then I'll help anytime! That is all. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Hehe, I don't really have anything I would not betaread, but if you have an OC as a main character, I don't really like to deal with them... I work with canon characters and that's that. |
