Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Well, I've never beta-read anything before, but I have edited my brother's book, 'Fable of Destiny'. I'm an absolute grammar-freak, and I'm pretty good at noticing little details that people may have overlooked.
My formatting style is a little bit different than others', and I know it's a turn-off for some people (Such as my sister), but I promise to beta-read to the best of my abilities. If you choose me to beta-read your story, I promise to work hard. I usually try to look over my work a few times to make sure I got everything.
I can go through and do a huge edit, if you want (As in, change a lot of paragraphs and things if the story doesn't flow well), or I can do small editing work. It's up to you! |

Hmmm... I don't think I have any particular strengths. I think I'm pretty good at dialogue, but I could be gravely mistaken! Uhm, I can't really think of anything I excel at, though. |

My weaknesses? I tend to overuse commas, or used to. I may still do so. I also start new paragraphs rather often, and I know that bothers some people. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
My preferred stories would have to be the oddball ones. The weirder they are, the more I end up liking them! There's no particular genre I enjoy over others, but I do like romance, being a female and all... |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I would not like to beta-read any kind of explicit anything. A bit of smut-ish material is fine, but if it's in gruesome detail, that's a big turn-off for me. The same goes for explicit language and violence. I also don't like extremely long stories. Also, no guyxguy, girlxgirl stories. They are most certainly not my cup of tea. |
