I try to connect with each story I beta and assess it based on the writing style, not my own so it stays as true to the original writing as possible. Beta's are there for help not to re-write. I tend to be picky about grammar and extremely picky on spelling but I accept people make typos; I do it all the time myself.
I don't expect people I beta for to get bitchy about what I say; if you don't want criticism, don't ask for it in the first place.

I'm best at correcting spelling, grammar and tense issues. I can help fix plot holes and progression too.

I'm not too great at betaing things I won't enjoy. Other than that, it's all good.

Anything but action I guess. I'm not really into action stories and have never written them so I would be no good at betaing them. I would most definately enjoy betaing angsty romances, horror or gore.

It would be hard to beta things from fandoms I don't take part it but I can always try. Other than that, action again and mary-sues. I try and avoid cliche too.
