Hey there. Who am I as a beta-reader? Well, I guess I am just me. Meaning I have been beta-reading quite a bit in the past and I think I got the hang of it!
I beta basically everything, though I would like to narrow it down to TV-Shows and Movies (Harry Potter counts as a movie ;)) mostly, because I want to know something about whatever topic you are writing about, so that I can give well-founded critique or praise.
I don't read poems, I think thinks like that can't be beta-read, or utter tripe.
Expectations? There are no expectations, life is so much funnier that way.

Hallihallo. Wer bin ich als Beta-Reader? Naja, ich denke mal ich bin nur ich. Im Klartext heißt das, dass ich schon einiges als Beta gemacht habe und ich den Dreh mittlerweile raus habe!
Ich bin gerne bereit für alles mögliche Beta zu machen, obwohl ich es hauptsächlich auf Fernsehserien und Filme (Harry Potter zählt als Film ;)) beschränken würde, einfach weil ich gerne ein bisschen war darüber wissen möchte, worüber ihr schreibt, damit ich auf fundiert Kritik oder Lob abgeben kann.
Ich lese keine Gedicht, denn ich denke, die kann man nicht wirklich beta-lesen, oder Schmarrn.
Erwartungen? Hab ich keine, denn so macht das Leben viel mehr Spaß.

I think my strengths lie with tenses and the overall flow of a story. I am also quite good at spelling.
Additionally I think that I can see whether a character is acting like he or she would.

Ich denke, dass meine Stärken bei der allgemeinen Grammatik und dem Gesamtbild der Story liegen. In Rechtschreibung bin ich auch nicht schlecht.
Außerdem denke ich, kann ich recht schnell erkennen, ob sich Personen in der Story ihrem Character oder der Situation angemessen verhalten.

I don't like to criticize ideas for a storyline, because some stories sound kind of strange at the beginning, but the further the story takes you, the better it gets.
Sometimes - if I don't get a deadline - it happens that I take my time to beta-read something.

Im Allgemeinen kritisiere ich Ideen für eine Geschichte nicht so gerne, denn manche dieser Ideen klingen anfangs noch total abgedreht, werden aber, je weiter die Story ist, immer besser.
Manchmal - wenn ich keine Deadline bekomme - kann ich mir ganz schön Zeit nehmen.

Well, as I said, I don't do poems and stuff that you didn't even think really about while writing it. Apart from that, I am open to short stories, drabbles, longer FF's, SongFics and whatever else there is.

Wie schon gesagt, ich mache nicht für Gedichte beta und auch nicht für Stories, hinter denen einfach gar nichts steckt. Ansonsten bin ich für kürzere Texte und Drabbles, aber auch für längere FF's oder Songfics offen und für alles, das es sonst noch so gibt.

Please don't give me stories that are just about sex or blood. I like a bit of fluff and romantic and I like action and a bit of horror, but I don't want to beta-read the script of a porn or a horror movie.

Bitte gebt mir keine Stories in denen es nur um Sex oder Blutvergießen geht. Ich mag ein bisschen Fluff und Romantik und gegen ein bisschen Action and Spannung hab ich auch nichts, aber ich will kein Drehbuch für einen Pornofilm betan, oder das Skript für einen Horrorfilm.
