Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Hello! I'm Candra, Candy or Candyglue to most. I love reading fanfiction, and I seem to be able to pick up mistakes even when I'm not searching for them. I'm open to anything, I do any genre, and I promise not to kill you for anything you write. I'm here to help you, not kill your stories and flame or laugh at them. So drop me a story! (P.S. My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
Lets see, spelling mistakes (even the tiniest ones) stand out to me like a penguin in the desert. I'm pretty good with deciding if the story is in character or not, for some fandoms. I'm good at researching tiny details, meaning: Can't remember a characters last name? No problem! I'll do my best to find it. Or If they actually had hair dye in the 1890's-which they didn't by the way-. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
Hm, I'm going to go with spelling. I'm not a strong speller, but as you can read in my strengths, even the tiniest spelling mistake pops out to me! I'm bad with the "it's/its" and "to/too". Oh, I'm also too nice. It's hard for me to criticize something. I most likely wont flame your story to a crisp, even if it really sucks, which is not so good. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
Het, slash, yaoi, yuri, I will read them all. I'm not to particular about pairings, so I won't make to much of a fuss if I don't like it. The pairings don't have to be canon, and there doesn't even need to be a pairing! Other then that, there's nothing I really prefer. Any genre or rating is cool as well! |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Non-Canon Incest. It's very rare if I read non-canon incest, which includes parents/their kids. Hm, nothing too dramatic. (If their whole family is gonna die, don't make them have maxed out credit cards and cancer...You get my point.) Ridiculous Mary-Sues. If you're not sure if your OC is a Mary Sue, send it my way anyway. Real People fanfictions. Example: Stories about the Jonas Brothers, Jonathan Groff, Zac Efron, Stephanie Meyer, Etc. |
