Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Hey guys, i love when people critique my stories, so i'd like to return the favour to you all! Yay! Best if you also know my pet hates when it comes to writing:
-Bad Spelling! I loathe it!
-Little to no punctuation...(*shudders*)
-Using unintelligable language. Increase your vocabulary people!
-Hardcore swearing for no reason. It isn't cool or fun, nor does it better your writing skills. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
-spelling, grammar and context.
-I think I'm pretty good with my vocab too...I know lots of words! My nick name at school is the "Walking Dictionary and Thesaurus" |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I'm too nice. For example if your story REALLY sucked, I would probably say "it could do with a lot of work"
-I often read my own work and skip over errors, but maybe that's because I write it?
-I often think of songs/movies and may steal a line or re-write a scene into context. I know, I'm naughty aren't I? |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
Ones with good characterisations, also with interesting plots with multifaceted storylines (but interlinking of course) Also, ones with Point Of View changes every once in a while but must be done in very clever/fluid way so it doesn't interrupt the story too much. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
-I'm up for anything. I think it's stupid to not beta-read someone's work. It's basically an insult. Blasphemy! Although I feel there are very few reasons to ruin your work with really hardcore swearing. |
