Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I'm a patient person, so if you're new to writing here and need a hand, feel free to ask!
When someone asks me for help, I normally read through their work first and then write down notes on what I think should be improved or kept. I then send this to the reader with some general hints on how to improve their story.
If you're really into writing then odds are I'll get on with you. I would expect someone to be enthusiastic about their work and I'll be happy to comment if someone thinks their story isn't very good; don't worry, I don't flame, I prefer constructive critisism! As long as you think you need some help, I'll be more than happy to provide it! ^_^ |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
My writing style has improved since I started writing fanfiction so if someone has a problem with wording something, I'll be glad to provide my own ideas. Also, if someone doesn't know how (a) specific character(s) should talk, I will comment on their use of language and how it works. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I normally concentrate on the story itself before the actual spelling (I am from the UK, so US spelling is obviously not my forte. I may spell something incorrectly for you if you are from the US. Spellcheck will probably be required.) Also, I tend to pick on slight details as well as major ones (Some wouldn't see this as a weakness, but some see it as nit-picky.) |
