Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Hi-hi! My name is CC. I like commas. No seriously, I love commas, but I'll try not to add commas everywhere xD I'm 15, have been writing fanfiction since 12 (yeah I know right wtf), is generally okay with slash/yaoi but I guess it depends on what fandom. I love reading crack, and I will still read anything which has a good plot and half-decent grammar. That said, I do think spelling and grammar are essential to any good fanfiction. :) |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I have gotten a lot better at beta-ing now :) I can leave your own style alone and just add to something if it doesn't make sense/doesn't flow. Obviously I'm good on the basic stuff, like spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc. I guess I can do some angst, I'm working on horror (and probably failing), but general stories are nice. Crack is good too, but don't expect me to change too much of that. I can probably give your characters a bit of depth, too. |

Okay, so. My vocabulary is not the largest in the world xD Also, if you're going to be switching tenses a lot, I will be confused. And my mind does tend to wander, which is why I usually only write oneshots. If you're giving me a very long fanfic, please tell me beforehand. I do have some personal-canons when it comes to characterisation, and if they clash with yours, I can't do much about it, but I will respect your views and say nothing. By the way. Me plus romance equals fail. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
Right now I'm in the Silmarillion fandom. Anything crack, angst or gen with the Noldor is best (especially with lots of plot). I also accept the Hunger Games and Alex Rider (no slash, no angst) . Apart from that, I guess crack!KHR and anything!Bleach. Oh and of course, anything-except-romance for LOTR. Oh, I love Mary Sue parody/bashing fics :) |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Yuri, lemons, limes. I can deal with yaoi for manga/anime, but some specific pairings for books. (Eg. Maedhros/Fingon, one of the few slash pairings I support). As mentioned above, anything with slash or angst in Alex Rider/the Hunger Games is no. I've had enough angst from Mockingjay to last me a lifetime, tyvm. I will not do romance for LOTR, especially if it's Legolas/OC. And please make sure your OC isn't a Mary Sue before you submit it anywhere. |
