Hello there. Well I've been reading and writing fan fiction for a little over four months now, and I love it! My betareading style is more of a critique on the storyline, but I do also correct grammar and spelling. I'm not afraid to tell you if you need to completely rewrite something because of all the errors. If you're afraid of brutal honesty, I'm probably not the beta for you. This does not mean I am unkind, just thorough and a bit nit-picky. I am human, I do sometimes miss the same mistakes that you did, but I'm generally good at correcting things. I find that it's easier to have someone else point out your mistakes because you are so familiar with your own work, you tend to repeat certain mistakes and ignore them because it's a habit. I have others beta my own stories for that reason. I'm usually prompt and courteous, I don't bite...hard. I expect the authors I'm betareading for to be kind and open to suggestion. Please do not cuss me out for criticizing something, I'm only trying to help. A expect the same amount of respect that I give to others. That's common courtesy, everyone should know that! I'm a fairly nice person and I love to help others, so don't be shy! (Because I'm certainly not, lol.)

I'm particularly good at correcting spelling errors. Sometimes I feel like a walking spell-checker, as all my friends and family usually ask me how to spell something they're unsure of because they know I'll spell it right. Another strength of mine is comma rules. I know where commas go and where they shouldn't. I myself sometimes get comma happy and put them everywhere instead of making a new sentence, so I'm very good at recognizing when someone else makes the same mistake, lol. I also love critiquing the actual content of stories. I'll let you know if your characterizations are accurate or if your story is actually worth reading. I also make suggestions to help improve the story, though it is out of respect and helpfulness. I would never tell you to do something and claim your story is crap if you don't. I respect all authors for putting in the time and effort of writing!

I tend to not catch some run-on sentences. I also seem to have a slightly hard time with verb tenses and possession rules (IE: 's or s' or s's?). Other than that I am generally thorough with my corrections.

I would prefer to only betaread Harry Potter based fan fictions. I don't read or write any other series-related work, so I wouldn't be much help in other areas. Preferred in the actual category of HP; I LOVE Remus Lupin/Sirius Black fics. They are my favorite to read and write and I would be most helpful there. Basically any HP-related fic is alright with me, as long as it's not too crazy out there.

I'm pretty comfortable with all sexual pairings, but I prefer not to read crazy pairings like Dumbledore/Harry, or Snape/Hermione; that's just extremely beyond crossing the line for me, lol. I like yaoi, het, yuri, pretty much anything as long as it's not too crazy. Smut is ok, I'm not afraid of reading hot sexual encounters; but seriously, who is?! That's pretty much it!
