Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I am a writer on this site and have some free time; not much though. during breaks from school i can work quickly. but when school starts, that will have my full attention. I love reading Action/Adventure
Mystery
Horror
Sci-Fi
Thriller
Some times fantasy as long as it's not over the top, stupid.
and sometimes Romance as long as it's not just an excuse to write lengthy sex scenes.
I don't mind violence, or even excessive violence.
I don't mind language, or cursing. ect.
I don't mind sex, again as long as it's not borderline erotica.
Expectations:
I don't know... Twig.
I have no idea.
Just ask, and make sure I've read the book series or TV series ct.
Books I've read:
Harry Potter, The entire Series
His Dark Materials

Twilight
1/2 way through New Moon;

Lost World

Andromeda Strain
Splinter Cell
Endwar
Halo

My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I work really well with just about any type of book.
I like writing in 1st person.
I can work with both heroines and heroes.
I like to make realistic Characters; No Supermen.
Vocabulary; i have a very advanced one.
I am pretty intelligent by most standards so you can write about stuff like science and medicine; and for the most part I'll understand. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
Grammar and Spelling;
seriously i rely to much on spell check.
WAY TOO MUCH!!! |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
Needs some back bone;
I probably won't read K or K+
and to be honest, i like M stories.
A little edge never hurt anyone.
Seriously don't ask me to Beta Read something i haven't read.
List of things i have read:
Harry Potter, The entire Series
His Dark Materials
Maximum Ride
Twilight
1/2 way through New Moon;
Jurassic Park
Lost World
Prey
Andromeda Strain
Splinter Cell
Endwar
Halo |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I can't stand, when a character has no flaws: IE the classic superman character.
Listen i know it's a romance novel; but i hate it when people (Ladies I'm talking to you) put their idea of a perfect man in the novel: Listen, no such thing! Seriously I've read too many books where the guy is like Jesus or something. |
