Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I edit mostly for grammar, and the occasional word accidents (such as "than/then"). I may also point out little details in some areas - such as run-ons, awkward sentencing, etc - but I probably won't come up with actual suggestions unless I'm not busy and you ask for it first. XD;; |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I like to think I'm on the higher end of the grammar bar. Although I'm pretty new to this whole online publishing dealio, my English teachers have been complimenting me on my writing for years. That's got to amount to something - even if I'm a public school kid, haha. I'm available a majority of the week and I'd be willing to give you my AIM/MSN for us to keep in contact better if you want! That's dedication, my dear friends, dedication. To you. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I'm inexperienced. Very, very inexperienced. A little particular about everything too, and I don't have a wide range of subjects... also, I'm a college student so I'll probably be a little busy around exam time and such. I can't spell very well (but that's what spellchecker is for, mm?) and I have a very... strict way of writing my own stories, so if you ask me to rewrite parts of your essay I'm going to write it the way I would. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I think I prefer drama/romance/angst. I love fluff, and I'm very fond of angst. I'd prefer beta-ing fics where the chapters are about 1000-2000 words long... give or take a hundred or so. But I don't mind oneshots either. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I won't do M stories, though I'm willing to "push it to the limit." I also don't really care for stories that involve real people - such as RL actors, bands, etc etc. |
