Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I like to think of myself as a decent writer, but I am not perfect and I make mistakes. I can only hope to learn from those mistakes and become a better person and a better writer.br /br /

I also know that it's hard to write when you first start out, so I completely understand when someone only beginning to write has a story riddled with holes and errors. Unlike most beta readers on this site, I love to help those who have horrible grammar, spelling, or whatever else you can think of. I can find the good in everything and I will give you a compliment with each piece of criticism. The important thing to me is that you are seeking help to improve your writing, not that you have near perfect skills and require next to no work on my part. I WANT to help you improve.br /br /

Please note that I am a Canadian person, therefore my spelling is also Canadian. Colour instead of color and such come up often in my work. This was how I was taught to write. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
Grammar, spelling, tenses, POV, Dialogue etc. I've studied all of this in my creative writing class.br /

I am very good at giving criticism in a nice way, and I am never short of compliments. I understand what it's like just starting out and I am very patient when it comes to explaining things and picking out your errors with you, showing you what you did wrong. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I tend to get sidetracked easily and have trouble staying on task, so it may take a few days to get back to you. I'm also not fond of figurative language. My description can be rather bland sometimes, though I've been writing drabbles and trying to improve that. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
Sesshomaru/Kagome or Inuyasha/Kagome for the Inuyasha fandom, Momiji/Tohru from Fruits Basket, ROMY (Rogue and Gambit) from X:Men are my preferred pairings. I enjoy all types of stories.br /

I quite enjoy yaoi (slash) and yuri (fem. slash) as well. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Nothing concerning rape (NO exceptions), or incest (with the possible exception of the twins from OHSHC). Nothing heavily AU. br /br /

Stories that make fun of or constantly insult other characters in any fandom. I have my own problems in real life, I want nothing to do with your petty pairing wars.br /br /

I write and read mainly for the Sesshomaru/Kagome pairing in the Inuyasha series, and occasionally for Edward/Bella in Twilight. While I am open to other pairings of these series, note that I am, in fact, biased. |
