Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I'd like to think I'm good at proof-reading, as I'm studying to teach English and/or Maths. Chapters of 5000 words or less shouldn't take more than 24 hours unless life interferes. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
Punctuation, spelling and vocabulary. I try to make the story sound believable (unless it's not supposed to), making sure there aren't plot holes and that the characters are in character (and yet I fail to do this with my own stories - I'm quite the hypocrite). |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
If I get too absorbed in the story I tend to just run my eyes over the top of grammatical errors. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
Good ones, obviously. More specifically, I prefer canon pairings. Also, I don't mind crossovers. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Slashfics, crackfics, lemons and anything with an inappropriate amount of obscenity or profanity. Sorry, but I don't want to beta something I wouldn't read. |
