Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I love to read and am interested in several fandoms. As a betareader, I'll read through a story once or twice and edit as I go along. I always make note of what I've changed and list these for the author. I am constructive when giving criticism and am willing to be a sounding board for new ides. As it stands right now, most of my published stories are Female/Male, but I am very into Female/Female fanfiction. I almost exclusively read Female/Female stories. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
My strengths include spell checking, punctuation, dialogue, and general grammar. I also give feedback beyond 'This is awesome!' or 'This sucks!' I try to give reasons as to why I feel a particular story is awesome or not that great. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
My main weakness is determining whether characters are in or out of character. With every show I watch, there are several characters that I can nail their characterization and others that just elude me completely. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I prefer to beta Female/Female pairings for tv shows, although I will beta Female/Male and Male/Male pairings as well. I really enjoy betareading smut and kink stories, but only with Female/Female pairings. I will beta smut for some Female/Male pairings. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I will not beta anything that involves child or animal abuse. |
