Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I have helped several authors with their stories and decided to open myself to help as many authors as I can. I know how hard it can be as an author and I would like to make it easier on others. To help them improve their work properly. I will tell you what you should work on if I see a repeated error, but never harsh words. I would ask anyone who wants me to beta-read to let me know what they want me to beta-read for specifically. If it's the basics (spelling/grammar/punctuation), I can do most fandoms, but if you're looking for help beyond that, it would be easier if it was in one of the fandoms I specify in the Preferences section (or at least something that you've asked me about and I've confirmed that I'm familiar with). I cannot be of much help if I don't have any idea what's going on in a given universe outside of your story. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I can be very creative, which can can be helpful if you are blocked and would like a spark. If it's a fandom I really know well, I'll most likely be really up on character voices and speech. I can help you make the character sound close to the way they do on-screen, making the story more believable. I don't claim to be perfect, and I can pretty much guarantee you'll find typos here and there in most of my work if you care to look, but after seven years of beating both my own and other people's writing into publishable shape, I'm pretty darn good. (Please note that this is publishable at the high school and college level, I'm not a professional editor by any stretch of the imagination) |

Long sentences. As long as they're grammatically correct, it doesn't generally occur to me to break them up. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I prefer to read from the fandoms I have listed, especially the famndoms I write for but, as i stated above, I am always open for new things. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I'm not much for self harm/suicide, or poetry. I will do them, but I really do prefer not to. I also do not like reading random pairings that are put together because it would be cute. |
