Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I've been a FF.Net member for fifteen months, and my writing has been well-received by all of my readers. Generally, I look for correct grammar, proper word usage, and good language. Sometimes, when necessary, I take the time to discuss authors the solidity of their plots, strength of their characters, and their specific use of language. Unfortunately, I no longer have Internet access at my home, but I go to the library at least once a week if I can. I open my Gmail more often than my Yahoo!, so please send your work to me via Gmail preferably; if there are problems, though, since sometimes stupid quirky Gmail loves to torture me by acting up, you can send to both e-mail addresses. I'm all right with accepting either attachments or e-mail messages with the story text. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I have been commended on my long chapter stories. Reviewers have commented on my good grammar and flowing style, as well as rounded character development; they also love the originality of my ideas. This would be an asset if you are the type of writer who is open to honest advice and even ideas. I am also very good at long epic or lyric poems that rely on rhyme, rhythm, and motion. If you want help on stories that are slightly angsty and/or mildly humorous, I will work with you. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
My weaknesses are really depressing or heavily emotional fanfics; I'm also not too good at short stories, since I find it more comfortable to work with long-term character development. However, I am STILL OPEN to short stories because sometimes they are easier and faster to edit. =) |

I prefer stories that are in the categories I have specified below. I will not accept fanfics in the X-Men category. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I do not accept any stories with profanity (i.e. using God's name in vain) or with graphic male-female relationships. Also, please, no songfics! I have little experience with contemporary pop songs. Without sheet music, I utterly fail at those... |
