My style in beta-reading is to read the story once, then read the story again. On the second time reading the story I will beta the story. I will then re-read the story, this time making sure I beta-read the story correctly. Once I have completed the third read, I will skim over the story with spell-check, and still look for more ways to correct the story. If no more corrections are needed, I send the story back to the author.

I am mainly about usage, punctuation, spelling, and grammar. I feel the need to make sure first-person point of view stays in first-person point of view. (Vise-Verse) I am also one who loves to make the story sound better. (Unless the author does not want me too. In which case I will not try to look for synonyms, etc.)

My weakness is replacing weak words with better ones that suit the character more. For example, Ron would say "bloody hell" not "good Lord"! So, he should not be saying it! I will NOT replce the words unless given permission!

I prefer to beta stories that are not all about love.
(Example of stories I prefer not to beta: Twilight)
I also love to beta slash stories more than any others.

I will not beta Twilight. (As I mentioned above) I will not beta a story by a writer who simply does not have a writing skill. I also will not beta a story I do not read myself.
