Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I like actiony stories that have a moving plot. If anyone wants me as a beta, they have to have a good idea, and the ability to complete a story regardless of how long. As well, you must be open to criticism, because I will fix stuff if it is not good. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I'm really good with grammar and such. Spelling and the correct forms of words, too. I an pretty good at getting story lines to move from one place to another. Character names I'm good with too, considering I'll go to whatever lexicon the book is based on and check. Otherwise, it irritates me. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
If there are a lot of mistakes and it's obvious you didn't even click the 'Spell and Grammar Check' button, I will likely get mad for you wasting my time. And then I'll stop beta'ing for you. Timing is something I'm concerned with, but I should be able to get your work to you as soon as possible. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
Harry Potter; Alex Rider: Slash, if it's in these categories. I appreciate pretty much anything, except really fluffy fics where absolutely nothing happens. Death fics are humorous. Also, I like Tamora Pierce, and I know all the universes equally well. There may be other stuff, but I'm not examining my bookcase at the time. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Stories that focus on something completely irrelevant to the plot. And, for Harry Potter, I don't like Harry with Ginny, if that's not obvious with what I write. Het and femmeslash, too. Well, if they're the main pairing anyways. |
