Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I have been reading and writing fanfiction for over 10 years now, and have a few people I usually beta for. I read stories with a kind yet critical eye, and often ask questions about the storyline to make sure everything makes sense. I do the best I can to fix grammar errors, but I too am not perfect. If you need someone to look over your story to make sure it flows well, I think I am your man. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I have been writing in the realms of Birds of Prey, Harry Potter, Utena, Smallville, and a few odd fandoms. I feel I am fairly good at keeping a character the same as in the show unless I stress otherwise. I feel I can spot that in other stories as well. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
Again, I am not perfect as an eye for grammar, but I am no dummy. I am 23 years old and have been writing for a long time. I have learned from my own grammar mistakes over the years (as I never had a beta until 3 years ago or so). |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I would prefur to read femslash or slash stories in just about any fandom, though it will be harder to get my mind around a lot of the fandoms. I will try my best, and if I feel I may not be able to help as much as I should, I will still go over the grammar, ask questions, and so on. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Stories with too much violence and angst make my head hurt. I am not totally for the fluff and happy ending, but I can't handle reading a 40 chapter story with 35 of those chapters filled with self loathing and doom. |
