Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Off of this site, I have been helping my friends edit their novels and stories for years, including their school assignments. Even if you don't need a Beta to read chapter-by-chapter but simply need a wall to bounce story ideas off of, I am your girl. If you have an original idea, I can create a whole host of ideas for your story. It can't hurt to see if I can help, right?
When it comes to Grammar, Spelling and Punctuation I aim to have no mistakes. I read all of my stories at least 5 times before posting and 5 times after so I can catch all of the little mistakes. I'm not going to lie and say I don't miss some of them, but it's rare. (Ha, now watch you read my stories and find several... That will teach me to stick my foot in my mouth!)
As for the types of stories I will Beta - Absolutely anything. Whether it include adult themes, sex scenes, sexual orientation, action scenes, etc.
My expectations for anyone who seeks my assistance is for them to at least try in effectively creating a story (Unless, of course, they need my help with the storyline which is different). For sanity's sake, use spell-check before coming to me.
Sailor Moon is my main thing, but if it's based on a movie, book, or TV show than I can help you as well. I have probably seen or read it, so it won't be hard for me to beta. If you are interested in my assistance, please let me know! |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
Honestly, my main strength is assisting in the creation of ideas for the stories. If you have a general idea that you want to expand into a story, I can definitely help you.
Grammar, Spelling, and Punctuation are fairly instinctual to me, I can usual catch a lot of the big errors the first time I read a story.
I am also great at descriptions. If you are having trouble with an action scene or even a sex scene, throw it my way and I will see if I can help you come up with something. |

Remember, it doesn't matter what the story itself contains, I will still Beta.
As far as Anime is concerned, I'm afraid to say that Sailor Moon is the only one I know inside and out. HOWEVER, if your story only contains the characters from the Anime but in a completely different story, I can then help you.
When it comes to Books, TV shows, Movies, etc. You will mostly have to ask me if I have seen it.
Books: I can help with a lot, but I am going to make a special mention to the Sword of Truth Series by Terry Goodkind, I think I have read the series 5 times through. Such a freaking amazing series.
Movies are too numerous to list but if it's an Action movie, Disney movie or Romantic Comedy that you need help with, chances are I have seen it Especially the Disney movies... *sigh*
When it comes to TV shows, I briefly glanced through the list offered on this site and here are the ones that I am 100% familiar with: Xena, Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman, Law & Order: SVU, House, Dollhouse, Legend of the Seeker, Alias, Full House, Buffy, Dr. Who, Grey's Anatomy, Friends, Hercules, Sex and the City, X-Files, Any of the Star Treks, Tru Calling (Don't know what they were thinking about ending that show)... That's a brief glimpse of the shows I can really help with. If it's anything else, run it by me and I will let you know if I know anything about it.
