Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I'm a very, very blunt beta reader. If you do not want to be told what you are doing wrong directly, please do not request my services. I will only beta read for the series listed. I am open to betaing stories of any genre and style, with any relationship, and with any rating or content. My goal is to make your story sound better and to help your writing career, it is not to berate you as a writer or as a person. I realize that as a beta reader I may come off as sounding annoyed so please be as patient with me as I guarantee to be with you. :) |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
As mentioned, I am very blunt and honest. It is both a strength and a weakness. I excel at dialogue and enjoy writing it the most. Generally I bounce character conversations back and fourth between my peers to make sure I get the dialogue correct, so if you like to "role play" in that manner, I am open for that. :) |

I tend to get carried away with exposition and my more recent stories (posted under a different name) tend to be lengthy in description. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I greatly enjoy stories with plot deeper then "lets get these two characters together", but those aren't bad either. :) My prefered genres are listed, but if the story is good enough, I will read anything. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I do not like rape gimmicks unless it servers for a higher plot. I will not read stories with illegal content - underage sex, misuse of drugs, murder, etc - unless under special circumstances. I generally avoid horror, angst, spiritual or tragedy genres, but I am willing to make exceptions. Please PM me if you have a question. I will UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES accept or read stories that discuss, God, spirituality, faith or the church. I WILL NOT read stories that discuss politics. I highly respect your opinions, so please respect mine. |
