Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Hi, I'm TwilightLink20xx, and let's face it, I'm probably no different from you. I'm available to check typos, spelling, give advice on verbage, and plot advice. My goal as a beta reader is to help make your story read better, and help you convey your ideas the best way possible.
I'd prefer you to have an open mind to my critique, but if my ideas are throwing off the point of the story, stop me, FAST. Try your best to get the small stuff before sending it over, because I tend to have a busy schedual and don't want to short-change you. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
Clarity, faster-pacing, character development, exciting action sequences, keeping in-character, foreshadowing, updating at a decent pace. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
Sometimes I go too fast, spur of the moment ideas sometimes don't work out, less experience with "fluff", a tendancy to stay on the darker side of the spectrum, not the best at comic relief. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I prefer to stick to these universes: Naruto, Kingdom Hearts, Zelda, etc. (Naruto is my preferance, though), Stories should be T rated or under. I prefer action/adventure stories, hurt/comfort, fluff, and stories that can mix these elements together.
In terms of Pairings (face it, it's unavoidable), in Naruto, I will be extremely pickey. NaruSaku is the only pairing with those two characters I support/am tolerant of, otherwise it's free reign so long as it makes a little sense. In Kingdom Hearts, I prefer that Riku remain a loner, and I could care less in Zelda.
Otherwise, if I know the material, I'll be willing to read it. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
See above comment about Naruto and Sakura, lol. I won't read anything I'm not familiar with, and I refuse to read Yaoi and Yuri. I won't read M-rated fics if it's for anything but violence. In other words, no strong profanity or lemons. If you write those kinds of fics, then I'm not your guy. And last but not least, no cross-overs, please; they rarely work as a concept as it is. I might also not be a good beta for comedy, but if you're willing to take a gamble, don't say I didn't warn you! |
