Please let me be your beta! I am a well-rounded beta. I can alter my focus depending on what you want. If you're confident about your content and just want me to correct mistakes, I can edit for grammar, mechanics, and style. If you would prefer recommendations about pacing, structure, POV, theme, and plot, I will focus on those aspects before nitpicking about grammatical errors. I prefer to receive some kind of instructions that let me know what you're looking for specifically in a beta. I strongly prefer reading fandoms that I read frequently. |

I have a good feel for dialogue and the flow of individual chapters. I will correct your grammar and punctuation mercilessly. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I am not good at knowing specialized lingo, e.g., what different scifi fandoms use for their common language (like Federation Standard) or what they call their units of time (like Farscape's arns). I'm also not clear on military ranks, weapon names, etc. If you really need details like that corrected, use a different beta. |
Preferred: types of stories I prefer over others
I love slash, preferably m/m. I like first-time stories better than established-relationship stories, but I'll happily do both. I'm okay with people acting OOC so long as you intend it to be OOC, otherwise I'll point it out and suggest that it be fixed.Fandoms I prefer: - Harry Potter (especially Harry/Draco or Remus/Sirius, but I can do anything in the fandom.) - Sherlock Holmes (Holmes/Watson. It's cannon.) - Star Trek TOS or 2009 (Kirk/Spock. This is the best pairing, period. I also like Kirk/Bones.) - Gargoyles (there's not a lot of Gargoyles slash, but I can do anything in the fandom) - Star Wars (Ani/Obi or Obi/Qui-Gon) - Glee (Kurt/Karofsky or Kurt/Finn) |
