Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Hello, I'm Kaito Lune. You've found me because, well, you know that already. I'm a starting Beta, as is I've only Beta'd for three stories so far but I enjoy doing it. I tend to be a bit laxed in my style of beta reading, noting changes and explaining why or different ways you could go through it. I'll read through it as both a reader and an editor. Please note, I tend to be swamped sometimes with school work so it could be a week before I can send it back to you. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
Not only can help with grammar and spelling, but I can help with determining the plot and keeping characters in check. I can also keep the story within the cannon universe as much as possible, though expanding won't be a bad thing. Word changes can sometimes be seen if you constantly use "said" and "reply" way too many times. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
Since I AM human, I tend to sometimes let things slip. Procrastonation can sometimes get the better of me but other times, it's because I'm busy. I'm terrible with humor but I can sometimes set it up accidently. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
Third-person stories are what I prefer when it comes to a POV story, for both reading and writing. I will read pratically anything though, as long as the plot strikes my fancy. I love good fight scenes, I am a sucker for romance, and I don't mind tragedy and a good mystery is a good thing, so it doesn't matter what type of story it is. Some pairings I just won't read for but if its an odd one, you have my attention. I also don't mind yaoi or yuri, as long as it keeps the characters in character! I just do NOT like seme/uke looks on the relationship because in real life, it doesn't apply to all couples. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Lemons, incest, twincest, and character bashing stories. I DON'T want to read about sex scenes, expecially if they're related! GOD! Would you do it to your brother/sister? If you like it, that's fine but I just don't want to read anything in the imediate family liplocking. Character bashing is just a no-no (unless it's from a character's POV). I don't care if you don't like the character. Instead, maybe write a story where they go through a character developement into something you like better. |
