Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Alright I'll do just about any boook because i've read loads of them. I'm the best with Harry Potter, cause well I'm a bit obsessed with it. I don't mind doing beta work for crossovers either. It's not hard to look things up and check facts. If you want me to be your beta, then you need to make sure you really want to write the fic. You need to be able to take criticism and know i'm not doing it because I'm jealous or a bitch. You also need to be able to work with me and take my opions not just my corrections. Also I'd like to be friends, I believe a relationship like this would benefit from a friendship. My style that I use on my own fanfictions is re-reading it five times to check consistency, then I look for my british slang, and correct that if I needed to. I also will expect you to know your facts, people who misuse the spells irritate me. All and all I'm here to help people and I will beta for anyone as long as I have the time, I can even do emergency betaing(is that a word?) if your beta is unable to do it for you for some reason. I also don't mind helping people who don't speak english as a first language.

My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I know a bit of spanish. I'm rather handy on the internet and can almost always find that obscure bit of info. Harry Potter is my strength, I've been having a love affair with it since I was 11 myself and waiting for my letter^_^. I'm good at spotting word errors and grammar problems. I have a british slang dictionary at your disposal. I've read enough books to be able to do crossovers too. I can make up cool names at the drop of a hat:D Oh and I've actually read the HP books. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
Television crossovers because I don't watch much t.v. I loathe the ron/hermione ship so it may be hard for me to beta that particular one. I'm pretty sappy too, I don't know if it's a help or hindrance. And I have a little girl so I won't always be able to get back to you right away but you should probably never have to wait more than a week at the most. I also have a stomach illness that effects me from time to time and puts me out for a couple of days. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
Any really just don't give me nightmares people. Also Hermione pairings are my favorites. when it comes to twlight I don't really have a preference as long as you're not pairing Jacob with Rosalie or something out there like that. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Ron/hermione and Ginny/Harry or anything where Hermione is made into this super model or she changes completely when she a pureblood. Hermione is a beautiful witch and doesn't need to change that much for people to love her. It irkes me but I'll still beta for it if you need me. Also if you're not going to even bother taking my advice than don't ask for it. |
