Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I have only really beta'd for close friends, but I normally tend to go through and fix things when I read, It's something I have picked up from a friend - I just can't seem to put it to use on my own stories yet.
I am rather open minded and will give anything a go. If I would become uncomfortable with anything, I would let you know and we could work something out between us. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
If I know the original well enough, I can be good at the background history and any research. I'm good with things like the flow and structure of the story. If you ramble or you get something mixed up that you previously stated I can usually pick them up. Also, if the flow is awkward I can help come up with suggestions either on some words that would help, or ideas so the story doesn't jump around much. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I'm not too good with tenses and perspectives, such as past/present/future tense and first/second person. I tend to miss mistakes of that type, however I have been getting better at picking them up. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
While I don't mind any type of pairing, etc I really do prefer Slash, mostly the yaoi kind. I do have favourite pairings but I am willing enough to give anything a try. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I really don't like Sakura, Ino or Hinata paired off with either Sasuke or Naruto. Sometimes I can read it, but usually I can't stand it. The same could be said with Ginny with Harry (sometimes I can stand her with Draco, but I really don't like Ginny) and there might be a few other pairings I might not like (mostly het). I will give anything a go, and if I don't feel comfortable I would let you know and we would work something out. |
