Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I like to make minimal changes to actual plot, because I wouldn't beta something that doesn't start with a workable plot. The plot, to me, is the creators baby. At best I can be used as a muse. My "beta-reader" style is to pretty much proofread, and make recommendations for description or word replacement or addition. I like to add "flair" and "life" to a chapter. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I'm good with simple and eloquent description. I'm also good at using the minimal amount of words to leave a particular, mood or impression. I'm also a grammar, punctuation, and word/text flow fanatic. Text must be properly parsed to be easily understood! Even if it isn't bad grammar! Ease of reading is important to me. I can use punctuation and text flow to demonstrate moods and pauses in a readers head as if I were speaking to them. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
My ability to make deep characters is lacking. They aren't cardboard cutouts, but...I have read many fanfics where I felt humbled by their ability to paint a character. |
