Beta Description
Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I'm a pretty flexible beta; as a writer I understand the importance of keeping the work as true to the original as possible. Our fics become our "babies" and we love them! Any improvements I make I'll be sure to go over with you. I usually like to read at night b/c that's when I have the most energy. I love to read as much as I love to write, so getting the chance to see new works is a dreamy prospect for me. I've done active beta work for:br /

dharma.issued: the last 1/2 of "These Violent Delights Have Violent Ends" (story id 5377945)br /

WickedCurveBall74: "Forsaken in my Mind's Past" (story id 5377945), "SnowFall and Delirium" (story id 6622237)br /

Majesta Moniet: the first few chapters of "Keep the Next Breath" (story id 7005422)
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I'm VERY good at spelling, grammar, & punctuation. If I see redundancy, I will point it out but I'm also good at finding synonyms and other ways to keep the meaning clear. I'm perfectly fine with doing spelling & grammar checks while leaving content as untouched and true to the author's style as possible- if that's what the author needs. If the author is open to constructive criticism and wouldn't mind my suggestions towards improving wording & tense continuity, that's great too! My passion for words helps convey exactly what you're trying to say, so there's no room for misunderstanding what you want your readers to get out of your story.
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
Things like creative input and POV continuity are my downfall. If I feel the work is trying to convey something, I'll try to point it out so the meaning is expressed, and this has caused some issues with people who like to keep things word-for-word rather than thought-for-thought. In the end though, I'm not the author- so whatever the writer wants, the writer gets! I'm not the best at contributing ideas/giving directions for where I think a story should go, because I don't like taking someone else's work, although I can make suggestions if you ask.
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
Although I'm first & foremost a Twilight fan, I'm pretty open to trying anything. I've beta'd two stories for Twilight, on for the Mortal Instruments, one for a Twi/Supernatual/Kingdom Hearts combo fic, and one non-fanfic story from another website.
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I don't do excessive, over-the-top smut. I'll be more than happy to spell check & grammar check, but don't ask me for fifty words for genitalia just so you can sound knowledgeable. I enjoy a good lemony story as much as the next girl, but not where it's nothing BUT dirty smut in every single chapter. For a story to be genuinely good, in my opinion, it's gotta be like a real-life relationship and move PAST the bedroom. Also, I apologize but I'm at a point in my life right now where I can't beta anything involving self-injury, eating disorders, or rape.
