Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I am an Upper Division University student getting a Liberal Arts degree. Though I mainly excel at informational and historical writing, I have loved fanfiction since I was young. I have written several stories several years ago and have, unfortunately, not been able to work on them in a long time. I have watched many different anime series and movies and I have read many different books. I especially love children's novels. To be honest, editing other peoples' work helps me with my writing skills immensely and I would love to read over your work! I am also not afraid to review long stories! |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
When it comes to structural writing problems, I can help with spelling, grammar, punctuation, comma usage, word usage, conciseness, and fluidity. When it comes to writing style, I can help with realistic dialogue. I can also help you keep your story from sounding childish and uninteresting by helping you to use a better vocabulary in general. If you are writing your story on a plot or subject that I am familiar with then I can help you with authenticity. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I am not perfect and I may occasionally miss a problem here and there, but I can help the overall effect of a story. There are some anime series out there that I have not watched before, but I have access to many of the ones that I have not seen before. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I prefer romance stories but most other types are fine. I have watched many different anime series and movies including; Cowboy Bebop, Dragonball Z, Escaflowne, some Evangelion, Fullmetal Alchemist, Gundam Wing AC, Inuyasha, RahXephon, some Rurouni Kenshin, Sailor Moon, and all of Hayao Miyazaki's films. I am also knowledgeable about many different video games, non-anime movies, and books. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I do not particularly like alternate universe fanfiction because I am constantly being reminded of the things the author is changing about the original storyline in order to fit it to their own story. However, I have run across some good AU stories in my time. |
