I'm willing to read essentially anything, and though I am quite tough (and sensitive) about abuses of the language I love, I am not cruel or harsh. As long as you can restrain yourself from TYpE-ing LiEk dIS, I would be happy to offer my services to you. I'm really a very easygoing person. And the rumors are totally untrue - I really don't bite! |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
What I'm best at is conventions: spelling and grammar. However, I am also fairly skilled at stylistic editing; I have an expansive vocabulary, so I can suggest words that might improve not only a sentence's quality but how it fits in the greater context of the rest of the piece's feeling. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I am a vicious procrastinator. This usually only applies to my own work, but since that can lead me to fall behind in school, this in turn sometimes makes it difficult to find time for beta-reading. Even when I do have that time, I prefer the uncomplicated (and therefore quick) work of reading for functional errors and improvements. If you're looking for someone to help you develop the theme or characterization (on a fine-tune level; I won't be able to stop myself from pointing out blatant OOC), sorry, but that person is not me. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
Hmm...well, there are certain pairings I prefer, but I'll read pretty much any "kind" of story. Though I love both introspective and plot-driven fiction, I would have to say I prefer character-driven works over event-based ones. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I absolutely will not, under any circumstances, read rapefic or stories dealing gratuitously with or glamorizing self-harm. This is not me bashing on your preferences; this is me stating mine. Other than this basic rule, almost anything flies - May-December is cool with me, I love het and slash alike, and I go all out for weird pairings myself, on occasion. So whatever you've got, if it isn't the aforementioned, throw it at me! :) |
