I'm usually a grammar and spelling beta reader, but depending on the fandom, I can also correct characterisations and canonical inaccuracies. I also spot plot holes and offer ways to fill them.



Anything corrected or changed is usually in red, to differentiate it from the normal text, though I might just change things without changing the colour. I go through it with a fine tooth comb, and usually explain any changes made when the document is sent back.



I expect all people who inquire about my services to have at least proofread their work once before sending it. I understand there's only so much one can do when it comes to editing their own work, but I don't want something rife with nothing but errors - especially errors you can catch by simply reading it through once or twice quickly.

Oftentimes I find myself busy with things that come up, so I take a while sometimes. But I try to get it done within a week, but sometimes that doesn't happen. In that case, I'll let you know - communication between me and the author is important to me and it's efficient.
