Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I've been reading Yu-Gi-Oh! fanfiction for... what feels like forever! Almost ten years. I've noticed that a lot of people make mistakes in their writing, and I actually enjoy going through and red-inking stories. I read them anyway and correct them in my head, so why not actually be helpful with it?
I'm a very nice person and am easy to get along with. Don't worry about messaging me!
(Also, for those of you who want me to explain why I made certain corrections -- like grammatical ones -- I will be more than happy to.) |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I'm pretty good at picking out grammatical errors and figuring out what word the person was going for when something is misspelled or mistyped. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
It's hard for me to read certain characterizations of characters, but I usually do anyway. I am also not 110% positive on certain grammar corrections, but I do have people around me that I am able to ask if I am ever unsure. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I would prefer romance or something along those lines, but I'll take almost anything. When it comes to romance, I prefer slash -- male x male or female x female. I will do het (male x female), though. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Anything involving or dealing with heterosexual rape or molestation. This sort of applies to female x female rape/molestation, too. And, if possible, no OC x main character of the fic. Unless it's only that way because of plot reasons and the canon character will be getting together with another canon character later on. No Mary-Sues, please and thanks. |
