Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
As a beta reader, I am picky. I am not going to take on stories to beta read for anyone who is really wishing to get a squeeing review simply in advance of posting their story. I believe in using the technicalities of English correctly. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
Punctuation and word use. The canon characters and canon plots of The Fast and the Furious and Knock Around Guys. I do have an extensive education in auto mechanics, and also in the life sciences. I'm a very technical, scientific type person. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
Spelling errors. I'm fairly good at picking them out now, after much practise. I feel that my own writing is overly discriptive and could occassionally be pared back in terms of overall word count. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
Action. The only fandom I would feel comfortable betaing for in terms of characterization of the canons would be TFATF and KAG. I will beta read any OFCs looking for Mary Sue/realistic. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
No slash. Read this as no taking to canon straight characters and making them into gay to suit your own purpose. Two actually gay characters or two ofc gay characters is fine. Nothing based on Anime. I don't watch any of it so I have no frame of reference to critique it from and I also don't find it interesting. In the same vein, I don't play very many video games either, so I might not be a good option in these fandoms either. |
