Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Hello! I'm Ellie. While I've not done much beta-reading through this site, I've done a bit of editing for friends and feel that I'm reasonably qualified to do so for a selection of genres and I'm not afraid to tell you what I think of something. My main expectation of stories that I read, be that they are canon, at least believable in the canon world or a true parody. None of those odd pairings for me, thanks. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I'm a total nit-pick about grammar. Punctuation, capitalization, I'll spot it. I'm also one of those character snobs; I'll willingly give my input as to whether or not I feel a character is actually behaving inside their character and will always give critique of original characters. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
Spelling is my downfall. Unless it's something so painfully obvious, it would bite me were it a snake, I'll most likely miss it. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
As long as I'm familiar with the canon, I'll read it. Action, humor, romance, I'm up for it. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Canon! Canon! Canon! I will not read those painfully out of character 'crack' pairings. You're free to run a pairing by me if you feel it could possibly be plausible in the canon, of course. Also, I'm not a fan of incest stories, canon or no. I'm just not into them, thanks. |
