Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
basically i read a story as a whole first, so that i'd be able to get a general idea of the story / plot.
then i go through it again; this time noting down whatever errors there may be.
but i don't go through it just once or twice; i read and re-read it as much as necessary. and i don't do it in just one day. sometimes i read it again after two or three days; because there's always this possibility that i might have skipped something last time, which i just noticed this time.
(this is the reason why sometimes the contents of my stories change every once in a while: when i read it again after a few months i saw some things i needed to change & correct, which i did not see when i uploaded it here in FF.Net.)
nit-picky, eh? =p well, that's just me.
i want those who are reading my stories to understand what i want to convey as much as possible, in the simplest manner.
one important thing: if ever you'll have me, please, DON'T RUSH ME. set a deadline, but don't bug me about it every ten minutes. this requires patience to eliminate most of the errors and make the needed changes. don't worry, i won't bite! xD

My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
i'm quite particular with grammar, spelling and parallelism. (parallelism is that one is consistency in the tense s/he is using)
my vocabulary's good enough; Filipino is my native language and i've been speaking (and still teaching myself!) English for almost 12 years now. so more or less i'm pretty fluent with the two languages.
i DO work as quickly as i can. give me one week to betaread a chapter, and i'll be done by then. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
as i've stated, sometimes i notice some errors / suddenly decide to change something after a while. so if you're after a betareader who's literally lighting-fast (like, s/he's done in a day or two), that ain't me xD |
