Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I am a sophomore in college, and graduated from a communication magnet high school. I don't claim to be an amazing writer myself, but I am generally good at helping clean up grammar, spelling, etc. Also, I like to think I can advise on what may or may not be a good plot development, if someone is feeling confused. I definitely know there is a difference between a good and bad fanfiction, and I believe that many fanfictions do not develop to their full potential due to poor writing skills, but that anyone can improve these. I think fanfiction is a great outlet to discover and explore your creative writing. I'm really willing to work with anyone who is looking to improve their work. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I am a good speller, know what a complete sentence is, and also have a strange love of grammar, though I am not in a major that has anything to due with grammar. I used to love diagramming sentences. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I tend to love commas a lot. Also, many of my sentences can tend to get complicated. However, even though I can get complicated, I also enjoy trying to un-complicate sentences without making it sounds childish or choppy. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I have no real preference for ships, etc. as long as the ship is being developed realistically. I'm totally willing to get on board with an idea if it's interesting, and exploring options and places that haven't been explored before. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I will not beta same sex ships stories, or stories with excessive graphic language, etc. I understand using curse words as needed, describing some kisses, etc. but I don't want to be involved in long, drawn out descriptions of anyones sexual experiences. |
