Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I'm gonna make this short and to the point. If you want me to beta for you, you have to meet certain criteria.
*You MUST be able to write. Talent is mandatory. Much too often have I come across horribly written fiction with absolutely no plot to speak of on this site, and I will not be made party to such blatant butchery of the English language.
*You must be open to constructive criticism, as it is only offered to aid you and build on your talent.
*You must be open to suggestion. If suggestions are made, it is in an effort to further/better your work, not tear it down.
Now then. While I'm mostly centered around grammar, spelling and word choise, I'm also willing to aid in plot development and the like. So you can feel free to talk to me about these things, if you want an honest opinion.

My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I've got an okay vocabulary and I'm pretty much grmmar girl, so even if you run a spell check on your stuff, you can rest assured any small errors that would weaken your work will be found and corrected. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I'm not so good with dialogue. It really depends on the fandom, but for the most part I stick to narrative. For that area, I'm not sure what help I could be. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
Regardless of fandom, I have only one criterian for my preffered beta material: that it be well written. That's all I ask. No crap accepted. |

If you request me as a beta and I check out your previous work and find it as crap (or if you plain don't need it), I will let you know that I will not be providing you with any service. I will give a reason, but any flames will be laughed at, and then reported. |
