Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I have never beta-read seriously before, so I have no idea what my style is. I'm sorry if I'm not much help, but I feel I can be helpful if I'm asked. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I am more analytical when it comes to spelling and simple grammar, though I hope the person I would beta for knows how to excel in that department. However, I know there are those that have difficulty, so I'm free for those writers. I also try to make everything flow nicely, within a paragraph or within a chapter or within a whole story. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
Given the situation, I may criticize too harshly or too softly. But grammatically speaking, I like to combine sentences and make them shorter; if a person wants a long story, I may not be able to give them what they want because I'll simplify it as a whole. (However, this completely contradicts my own writing style; I prefer to write complicated sentence that sometimes end up being run-ons.) |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I'd prefer to read something I know of, so that I may be able to fix some canon/true details as well. (In that respect, that would only be certain types: Hey Arnold!, Twilight, Codename: Kids Next Door, South Park, and others on my favorites list.) |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
To tell the truth, some pairings would really turn me off. So if someone just gives me a small summary and the pairings involved, then I'll see if I would be uncomfortable. I also don't do poetry. |
