Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I have been a writer at FF.Net for almost five years, and expect nothing of the best when it comes to stories. I have been beta-ing for quite a while now, with multiple stories and one-shots under my belt. My betareading style is simple: grammar/spelling comes first, with flow/dialogue as close seconds. I also look very carefully at characterization and believability in stories.
My expectations: please have written for at least some time, or at least have confidence that your story is, on the whole, readable. Inquire about my services if you'd like help fine-tuning, or need advice on how to advance the plot or have a character behave. |

Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
Please keep stories up for betaing in fandoms that I have written for. I can't promise my best characterization advice/dialogue if I don't know who the characters are. I enjoy betaing Het Romance, Humor, Angst, and Drama and do my best in those genres. I also prefer shorter stories over longer ones (unless I start betaing the longer ones from the first chapter). |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Although I can tolerate yaoi, I don't enjoy it and have a harder time betaing it. Also, if your story is written in First Person, I will have a harder time reading it without flipping out over 'in character'/'out of character' thoughts. I can't write Action; I can barely imagine them in my head, so please don't ask me for help--I'm useless. |
