Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Hey everyone. I'm Smiley. I'm not sure how well I'll serve as a beta, but I have proof-read a few college papers. I probably can't tell you the exact number of comma's that is necessary, and my spelling leaves something to be desired. However, here's hoping that I can help you. I will try my best! |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
My strengths are mostly stylistic. If you need help making your sentences flow or wonder if you're inspiring laughs, I would be more than pleased to be brutally honest with you. [insert your choice of malicious laughter here] |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
My weaknesses are mostly technical. If you're looking for a grammar nazi, you're about 6 decades too late and in the wrong place. Spelling and I are not on good terms either. Good news: I can spot most of your blantant, simple errors. Only the more finite rules give me problems.
Lastly, I don't like to be rushed. I'll beta your story, just give it time and remind me often. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I have a long-standing history of reading losts of angst, but I have been finding more and more that I enjoy humor and romance. But really, there isn't much that I'm opposed to reading, so send it my way! All I ask is that you respect that I may not be familiar with your fandom, and therefore cannot appreciate it as much as one I do know. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
No. Not really. I'll trust you to use good judgement and let you know if I find anything offensive. |
