Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I am an art student who loves to write. I write mostly stories and I love reading as a pastime. I expect to read fanfiction from people who are serious about their pieces and don't stray too much from the overall essence of the work they are deriving their stories from. I am very good and English and American History as well. I read many different things and love reading story ideas I haven't heard before over and over and over. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
My strengths are that I am very very good in English, it being my best subject when talking about general education class...well this and American History. I am pretty knowledgable about the placement of certain grammar and the format of writing. I will give critiques and some may be 'harsh' but they are never going to be mean - but insightful. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I am I perfectionist, I am not going to lie. However, I really can't give a decent review unless I can at least understand and decipher the grammar. If sentences are seriously misplaced or messed up I will have trouble actually reading the story. Sometimes I can also get a little carried away with my critiques, so I just want everyone to know I'm not 'being mean' when I write my critiques, I'm being critical. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I prefer to read stories that have unique ideas in the eyes of the writer, things that might catch someone's eye. I also prefer to read stories that are thought out and have potential, are written nicely, and are from serious writers that care about their stories. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I do not read stories of yaoi or anything that is not guy-girl relationship. I do not have anything against it, just that, some people when they write theses types of stories get carried away and all-out gross. |
