Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I'm a student and a lover of reading and writing. Though I'm new to officially being a FF.N beta, I do have experience with beta reading fanfiction. I also having copy-edited numerous college level papers, and have taken several college level reading and writing classes. English is my native language.
I don't have a particular betareading style, but I will try to accomodate if you have any specific things in mind. I will do my best to correct spelling and grammatical errors, but that's just the basics. I will try to help fix up any sloppy sentence or paragraph structure, or formatting issues. I will look at the plot and the events of the story and give my personal opinions on how well I think it runs and if it carries itself smoothly and logically, and then suggestions on how to improve. If I'm familiar with the characters and canon story, I will try to give advice in that area as well.
Of course, aside from spelling/grammatical issues, a lot of what I give will probably be mere suggestion, and I won't be offended if you choose not to take it. It's your story after all, but I will do my best to be as helpful as I can. :-)
Please, if you can, do run your story through a spell checker before you send it to me. Also, though I'm happy to beta read particular chapters, I don't want to commit to a long multi-chapter story because I'm afraid in the future I won't have as much time.
