Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
When I read for the purpose of editing, my main focus is helping with character development, specifically the thoughts and internal motivation for the characters' actions. I think that if you know what motivates a character, they tend to come to life, and it's much easier to write them in different situations because it's like the character's inside your mind, just dictating to you how exactly they would react. While the very first thing I do is check for spelling and grammar, I'm so much more about the content and characters than anything else. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I have a knack of helping people flesh out their characters, and I'm very good with spelling and grammar. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I overuse commas and tend to write run-on sentences. And I'm very long-winded. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I'll read just about everything; I'm relatively open-minded when it comes to content, just take a look at my favorite stories listed in my normal profile. I love complex storylines. Also, I like romance, drama, and action stories. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I'm not particularly comfortable with slash pairings, but as long as it's not blatant, I'll read it as well. |
