Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I'm just a writer who also likes to edit. (I hope to one day work in editing.) I have the habit of tearing stories to pieces, so it takes me a little while, but I'll comment on nearly anything in the story: characterization, grammar, punctuation, plot. I'm pretty flexible about what I look at in a story, so let me know what EXACTLY you need. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
Good with grammar and usage. Took Creative Writing at the university. I'm best with action and romance, and I'm good at pointing out canon, et cetera. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
If I get sucked into a story, I won't leave. I also won't point out its weaknesses. It takes a strong story to do this. Also, if you write like Stephenie Meyer or Christopher Paolini, expect to get smashed: I can't stand the way those authors write. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
Highly prefer one-shots or other completed works. I like to just sit and read things. I'm partial to romances, but I'm quite happy to look at anything that breaks convention. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
I'm not really prepared to beta an epic - I'm a college student. *sweat* I also tend to avoid highly sappy and noncanon stuff, or stuff with OCs, so I'd rather not beta those. I am also terrible with poetry of any sort.
NEW: Right now, I'd REALLY prefer to beta NO vampire stories besides TxR Vampire Kisses. You have no idea how sick I am of vampires right now. |
