Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
While I've never officially beta-ed before, I consider myself very language-oriented and I've been told I'm pretty good with the constructive critisism. I'll beta anything that I understand. If I've read the book or seen the movie I'll be up for it. Expect a well-rounded response from me about your fic. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
Dialogue: I consider myself the master of dialogue. The way characters speak is how they come across to the reader, and that's the most important thing, so making dialogue as natural as possible is key and I can help with that.
Characterization: I'm a firm believer in keeping the characters true to their original selves. This includes how they speak.
Grammar: I knit-pick any story I read whether I'm editing or not for correct grammar. I'll tell you if your preposition is in the right place or not. ;)
Spelling: I don't like spelling things wrong, and I know it looks silly when you do, so I'll do my best to check everything. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I think my biggest weakness as an editor is that I tend to go in-depth while editing. But don't let that discourage you! I'll do my best to be constructive and not bossy. It's your story, after all, and I'm merely the bystander. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I would prefer stories that come from categories I know and understand. If its a book I've read or a movie I've seen I'll be willing to give it a shot. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
No slash fics. Sorry, but when you take beloved characters and make them gay for any reason... I just walk away. |
