**If you are asking me to beta a story already on FF.net, please provide me a link to your story. I'm not going to search through hundreds (thousands in some fandoms) of stories to find yours.**



Unless asked for a deep-crit I read through the story twice. The first time without my editor hat, just to see how it flows and works as a whole. The second reading I check for spelling and grammar. I tend to let the author's voice remain, unless a sentence wording really seems off. I've beta'd on and off for years. I am fairly busy, working two jobs plus a mother (and soon grandmother) but if you give me a timeline I'll work with that. I would most certainly let you know when receiving the document to be beta's what my expected turn around time for that specific work is. You can view my profile for a list of fandoms I write in, but those aren't exclusive to what I'm familiar with. Feel free to PM me if you have a particular book, movie, TV show, or crossover in mind and I'll let you know if I'm familiar with it. (I do NOT beta Twilight fandom.)



I will say I'm not your mother and would expect what I'm asked to beta to be finished, meaning you've proofed it yourself at least to some degree and in your opinion it's ready to be posted. I'm not here to re-write a story or to go through 5,000 words of their for there (or even they're), etc.

As stated above, story flowing together as a whole, spelling, grammar. I like to think I have a pretty good grasp of all of the characters in the fandoms I participate in, certainly some better than others. Particular fandoms I'm strongest in would include Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Heroes, X-Files - but I'm familiar with many. (Again, if you don't see the fandom listed here with this beta guide or on my profile ask me, I certainly haven't listed every movie I've watched or every TV show I've watched religiously.)

I admit, I'm not the greatest at comma versus semicolon use.

I'm willing to beta anything really, though het or gen would be my specialty. The only pairing I will not read is in the BtVS/AtS fandoms: Angel/Cordelia. Slash is not my strong suit, but I can beta it. There isn't anything that offends me as far as kinks go. I'll read any ratings from G on up, including PWP.

Cordelia/Angel in BtVS/AtS fandom. Xander involved with any vampire also in BtVS/AtS fandom (I know this is popular but to me it strays too far out of character from him, not slamming those who like it just isn't my cuppa). Slash isn't my strong suit, but I'd be willing to read it if no one else could be found in the fandom to beta a piece. RPF. Twilight fandom.
