I will beta anything, for anyone, of any genre/type/etc. I prefer fics that have been (at the very least) ran through a spell check program first. Be serious about your work as an author and I will treat you with equal respect. I will never re-write your fic. I'm mostly concerned with Canon, grammatical errors and especially spelling. I will point out things where a paragraph does not flow or a character suddenly goes out of character from how you've written them, but your fic is your fic. I will only go deeper if you ask me to.

Grammatical issues, spelling (including weeding out words such as, 'they're, their, there' that spell check programs miss), and Brit-picking. I exceed at these. If you have trouble with your spelling or your reviewers are hollering that you need a beta reader because of your spelling (especially if you swear that you put it through a spell checker), this is my forte, and you have the right beta reader.

I have very low tolerance for fics that are illogical, poorly thought out, slapped together and/or Mary Sue/Gary Stu. I also get impatient with more immature writers who use a *LOT* of _emphasis_ with NO tolerance for their writer's intelligence, or use a lot of l33t net-speak. If your fic (specifially for genres such as Harry Potter) sounds like some 13 year old American girl with pigtails wrote it, I will send it back without doing anything.

My preferred realms of fics (ones I know best) are Harry Potter, X-Men, World of Warcraft, Forgotten Realms, Star Trek (all genres) and pretty much anything I can find in a book.

Gratuitous violence, sex, profanity, rape, squick-fics - I can and will beta these, but they had better be well-written and form a point, rather than just being drivel and dreck for the sake of shredding characters to satiate some weird blood lust you have that I will not understand.br /br /br /br /br /

Also, I do not have a television, nor have I watched one in many years. While I can still beta fics for TV programs, I can not help with Canon aspects of those sorts of fics, as I have no idea what they should be like from a personality point of view or anything else, for that matter. The exception to this is Star Trek: TNG and Voyager. Of those two shows, I know extensively.
