Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Initially, I read as a reader, finding those things that knock me out of the story. Grammar, poor spelling, punctuation.
I then look for continuity errors or idea flaws.
I expect the author to take my suggestions seriously, or ask questions, to make the story better. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I have strong grammatical skills and a penchance for sentence structure. I can help you avoid being repetitive, and hopefully, inspire creativity. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I tend to want to know the whole story beforehand. For me, it helps me make sense of what you are trying to do. For some authors, it might not be the best thing if they are the kind who types on the fly.
I also tend to get caught in the story. |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
I prefer to do genres with which I am familiar; however, I can pick up quickly on a particular subject if it intrigues me.
Good moral tales, good versus evil, happy endings not required, but let's keep it real, folks. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Anything rated m, stuff with gratuitous: violence, blood, gore, cursing, or sex. Note: I said gratuitous.
NO SLASH. Not my cuppa at all... |
