Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I will betaread based on the authors preferences. I can make notes within the submitted document or provide as a separate document/email. I will review complete chapters, part-chapters, paragraphs or even just character plot helplines in order to provide help and support to each author I betaread for. Authors can expect to receive a response to beta requests and submitted work within 48 hours at most. More often than not it will be quicker. Authors requesting that I betaread for them must be able to accept constructive criticism or suggestions that could help to improve their story/plot line/character etc. I don't think I'm a harsh reviewer and I always look for the positives when reading through anyones work. I really enjoy being able to help fellow fanfiction authors through betareading and want the author to be happy with the beta work I do for them. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I'm very particular about correct use of grammar and spellings and am good at picking up on these. Also, good at providing alternative phrasings on any sentences/paragraphs that I think need it and providing to the author for consideration. Need help keeping a character in character? I'm sure I can help you with this one if I know the programme/anime/book/film etc well enough. |

An area I fall down on is helping to keep stories in 1st or 3rd person narrative. I'm by no means terrible at noticing when it changes but I can skip over them occasionally. If you need help with this I will do my best for you. |

I prefer to beta for yaoi/slash stories over all but will also help out on other types as well. |
