Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
A beta reader's purpose is, supposedly, providing assurance that your work is in good shape, readable and abides by the site's rules. I don't do any of that.
Beta reading is all about cooperation. Anyone, who wishes to apply for my services via DocX, can expect quality commentary for errors in language and minor tips in other areas like presentation and plot. My suggestions are neither obligatory nor intrusive, and I don't remove any of the submitted text, so the applicant can use the received document later. Such correspondence is always kept private, which means readers do not receive any spoilers.
From the applicant's side, I expect a decent final draft in respect to the craft. The less errors, the sooner you receive feedback with a maximum waiting time of seven business days. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
Six years of writing experience and a severe eye for English. When it comes to FFN, my know-how is backed with over 1000 reviews. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
Kidding, right? |
Preferred: types of entries I prefer over others
No more than 4500 words per chapter. |
Would Rather Not: types of entries I do not want to beta for
Anything typed up in under fifteen minutes and/or not edited beforehand. Final drafts abiding by the domain's rules only. |
